Ms. Scheffler has been serving in the military for the past three decades, and has gained a strong reputation as a leader who excels at managing others and molding military personnel into exceptional leaders. As the chief of centrally managed programs, Ms. Scheffler oversees 1,500 reservists and manages a reserve program for the Headquarters Readiness Management Group.
Ms. Scheffler enlisted in the U.S. Air Force under the delayed enlistment program in October 1983. Throughout her career in the military, she held a variety of positions. She worked in the Pentagon, the Air Force’s headquarters and served on numerous bases. Most of her career has been focused on working with reservists. For her dedicated service to the U.S., Ms. Scheffler earned the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Ms. Scheffler gets great satisfaction out of seeing her troops succeed. She prides herself on preparing them for every possible outcome and getting them ready for their careers in the military. Ms. Scheffler considers herself to not only be a leader, but also a mentor to the reservists she works with. She knows firsthand how important mentors are, as she attributes all the success she has experienced to the support she received from her mentors, and plans to support her reservists in the same ways.
A member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, Ms. Scheffler plans to use her skills and abilities to introduce education and leadership development in a civilian capacity in the coming years.
