NORFOLK, VA, October 16, 2013, Comrade Betty A. Miller, Service Officer Trainer for Disabled American Veterans, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in assisting veterans.
After retiring from the U.S. Navy, Ms. Miller made the decision to help others look for future employment and secure their benefits. She believes when people are inspired to do better, their confidence level goes up. Through her work, Ms. Miller works with veterans and their family members. She helps them with their claims and benefits, and also helps them transition back into the workforce.
Ms. Miller is also the owner of Nite Owl Den, a business writing company that helps students and individuals with resume writing, and their English and grammar issues. Ms. Miller feels the most gratifying aspect of her career is the hope that comes after the resume services and resources are provided that will help the client get back into the workforce. Ms. Miller attributes all of her success to Strayer University, where she received her education, and her networking skills throughout the community. In the near future, she would like to earn a teaching certification and get more involved in the education field.
