LAURENS, SC, April 10, 2013, Everett Bruno Hawkins, retired Armed Forces professional, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in defense services.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hawkins spent years with the Department of Defense, protecting and serving the country that he loves. Inspired by a long standing interest in the health care arena to pursue a career path that would allow him to help others, Mr. Hawkins embarked on a journey in the Armed Forces nearly three decades ago. He became involved in his profession when, after having a fascination with health care, he used his GI bill to go to medical school, but it had to be put on hold due to severe arthritis.
Mr. Hawkins is retired from the DoD, but in his career, he spent 3 1/2 years in the Armed Forces as an Army combat medic and was in EMT enforcement for 26 years, as well as various emergency intervention positions. Lauded as an expert in the saving of lives, Mr. Hawkins has committed many years of his own life to doing so. As he is now retired, he would like to build a house by the lake in the near future. He supports a number of worthy causes, including Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
