Mr. Patterson served in the United States Navy for more than 21 years. During his tenure, he served as an engine room mechanic and supervisor where he worked on nuclear powered ships. After the Navy, Mr. Patterson spent 16 years working for the Merchant Marines where he operated the propulsion plant, ensured proper function of the electrical system, and handled the purification of drinking water and maintenance of internal climate control on the ship.
An honest and dedicated individual, Mr. Patterson takes great pride in how his career panned out. His love for his country and desire to make a difference enabled him to excel in the field of military engineering. While serving, Mr. Patterson earned numerous Letters of Commendation, ribbons and military medals.
