Between nearly 20 years in civilian work and 24 years dedicated to the U.S. Marine Corp, Mr. Franzen supplies his vast experience to the photography services company, Shutterfly. Mr. Franzen joined the company in early 2015, and on a daily basis he oversees a team of 30, manages more than 180 petabytes of data, which he builds on an international scale, as well as budgets responsibilities and profits and losses. His network services extend to the company’s data center, storage, image archive, and he aims to facilitate his teams to successful performances.

During his time in the military, Mr. Franzen gained international experience which has translated well into his civilian life. Many of the companies he has worked at have gone international. He has worked for companies such as Strevus, TiVo, Lyris Inc., Prosodie Interactive and Landel Telecom. It was due to his service in the Marine Corps that he became involved in his profession. In addition, he has also had long-standing interest in technology.

Mr. Franzen earned a Navy Commendation Medal and a Navy Achievement Medal. He is involved with DAV, the Marine Business Network, Marine for Life and the Wounded Warrior Project, Inc. He holds various military and technology certifications, ITIL V3, ITIL and Oracle Masters. Looking toward the future, he endeavors to start his own company and grow as an entrepreneur. He credits his father as the main factor in instilling strong work ethics.
