Arlington, VA, October 28, 2016, Maj. Barbara S. King, Performance Assessment Officer with the National Guard Bureau, has been recognized by Elite American Military, for dedication, achievement and leadership in performance management.
On a daily basis, Ms. King supports the mission of the Business Transformation Office, as well as the efforts that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the key business processes and systems for the Army National Guard. She also implements performance management to improve integrated management system programs. Ms. King supports the Army Communities of Excellence programs and serves as an IMS/ACOE examiner.
Ms. King enlisted in 1992, and graduated from her basic and advanced individual training in 1994. Looking back, she became involved in her profession initially to help pay for college. By the end of her military basic training, she knew she would be in it for life. She began working for the U.S. Department of Defense nine months after completing her initial training, and has worn the uniform every day since.
